Politics Behind the Beef Ban In INDIA
Before digging deep into this politics on Beef Ban. I recollect one of evergreen songs from a very famous composer Ilayaraja.
“Adangatha Kaalai onnu Adimaada Ponathadi Kanmani en Kanmani” –
Over the years people who have been in agriculture used to grow crops in their field. In the same way they use to grow sheep,hen and cows. Farming or cultivation strongly depends on climatic condition when the expected climate to grow the crops fails, farmers depend on other life stocks for food such as sheep,hen and cows. We have to understand that it is called “life stock”. When there is no food to eat the farmers make their mind to cut off the heads of hens,sheep and cows to eat them, they respect the sacrifice of their life stock and eat them. This is how our farmers have lived so far in our country.
Some Known Facts:
- Around 65,000 tonne crores of Beef were exported from India last year.
- Country breed either Cow or Bull have life expectancy lesser than foreign breeds.
- Since it is country breed we have to maintain it properly, meaning that the food consumption of country breed will be higher than other breed.
- Country breed cow will give lesser milk than the foreign breeds.
- After Jallikattu protest awareness has got a lot for youngsters to buy more country breed cattle and there are a lot purchases happened after that as well.
Political statement:
The Govt. of India has announced to ban the beef consumption to its people. The Govt said it in a statement as “the government said cows and buffaloes cannot be sold for slaughter“. They fail to give a reason why?
Politics Behind:
The politics behind this ban is again to bring in the foreign cattle inside India but in a different route. As I mentioned in the facts area, native breeds will need a lot of food to eat and due to some reason there is much probability that many cattle may fail to be stable and sustain without problem for a long time. yes it is true but that is how it has to be. If you are a human you will be having diseases you will have cold and at some point of time you may not feel well to do any work after certain age. The same thing goes for cows and bulls.
When cows and Bulls reach that age particularly when bulls feel very weak to reproduce or they’re impotent or week to pull carts or participate in jallikattu then farmers have no other go than to sell them. This is fact. Everyone has to accept them. As I mentioned in the Song lyric at first this also defines the fact “Life Stocks”. Farmers depend on them for their living.
Ok, now where will they sell this?. To people who buy this cattle and peel leather out of their skin and make drums, bongos, belts, shoes etc or to people who burn, cook and add spice to them and give it to many people again for eating. Anyways the farmer is doing his job, the equation is balanced he wanted to put food to people he’s contributing via crops or via cattle.
Going back to facts point. After this phase there will be a huge voice raised from our govt saying that the production of milk is dwindling because there is no beef should be cooked and a lot of south indians are having country breed which is giving very little milk so we need to import cows from other countries such as jersy, swiss etc. This is what the Indian govt is aiming at.
But why Our government has to aim on this?. That’s a interesting question currently our government is running and using the financial liberties of the corporate sector. Pepsi has now realized that it cannot sell pepsi anymore and has already jumped into Milk business not to forget Reliance is speaking deal with Heritage to acquire it. Then how will these companies make Milk? Definitely not with the country breed which is for small scale village and home usage. They need some sort of way to give more milk and gain more income.
Other lame reason:
Rest of all other statements made by existing political party members and their people dont even make sense. Some said Islamic states are banning pork why not india ban beef. For those people India is a secular country. You should revisit ur statement you can only say Hindus dont consume Beef because islamics will consume Beef you dont have liberty to stop them and there are many hindus who consume pork you cannot stop them either. So these are lame excuses.
